ethics

In accordance with Article No. 25.9 of the MACP Statute, an Ethics sub-committee was re-appointed by the Executive Council in May 2024. Its aim is to evaluate or create any necessary formations that ease and enable the proper application of professional ethics for the upkeep of high standards within the counselling profession. It regularly reports any progress to the Executive Council and receives feedback from them.

It also acts as an advisory body on counselling ethical issues to MACP members. In order to fulfil its duties diligently, it needs to be in constant communication with CCP (Council for the Counselling Profession). Currently, this sub-committee has offered to contribute to the writing of the CCP Code of Ethics and discussions are in progress with CCP.

Depending on the need, the sub-committee meets between once a month or every other month.

The present sub-committee is made up of:

  • Chairperson: Marthese Vassallo
  • Members: Joseph Pellicano, Paul Cutajar
